Desu Desu Desu

Guess where I'm going this weekend? Not that hard considering the title, right. Desucon of course! And now I shall reveal my awesome cosplay plans for this annual convention of Lahti. I probably should have made this post like, at least a week prior to the con, but procrastination happened (oops, never heard that one before). Anyways, behold these costume plans of mine;

Friday:

Rei Miyamoto (Highschool of the Dead)
I'm not 100% sure of this one tho, I'll have to wait and see what time I get
to Lahti on Friday, if I get there fairly late I won't put any cosplay on for that day

Saturday:

Gisen Yagyu (Hyakka Ryoran Samurai Girls)
This cosplay will be worn for the first time on Desu, so stay tuned for its awesomeness!

Sunday:

Tomoyo Sakagami (Clannad)
I hope to get some nice summer pics of this one, I still don't have any outdoor pictures of her since I've only worn her to Desucon Frostbite, which as the name implies is a winter con. And this is the summer uniform version after all :3

I guess that's it for my plans for this convention. I hope to see lots of people there, both people I know from before and people I haven't met before. Who of you are going? And what costumes will you wear? :D

Pandora Hearts

Woah, I'm going from posting once every 6 months to posting every few days, go me! But I did after all promise to post some pictures from our recent Pandora Hearts photoshoot, and well, here they are, enjoy!

Haha I felt like a bit of a douchebag editing that picture with only Oz in it, as it originally did contain both Oz and Gil. Sorry for editing you out Hansku haha, just felt like having a solo pic. So everyone can adore me in all my glory of course! or it could just my compilation of cosplays I've made, you'll never know.

And finally, some credits for the people appearing in the pictures and the person operating the camera:

I cosplayed Oz
Hansku cosplayed Gilbert
Ilse took all the pictures

Thank you both, it was a fun photoshoot :D

And with that this post has reached its end, bye for now~

I'm an awesome blogger

Yep. I just have to admire my blogging skills, not one single update in almost half a year. I am the greatest blogger of all time! But hey, one post every 6 months is better than nothing, right? Right?...  Okay now that I've established how bad of a blogger I am, I'm going to move on to something that hopefully interests you, Desucon Frostbite 2013, which was held in Lahti the 16th and 17th of February. In other words, about a week and a half ago. I made two new costumes for this con, and the progress pictures of making those two are few, but in the best case scenario I'll throw together a post about that later. (Yeah right, we'll see about that). But whatever, I have to new costumes, yay! And I (kind of) have pictures of them, double yay! And I took a reasonable amount of pictures of other cosplayers at the con! No, you're not getting a triple yay. Triple yays are just taking it too far.

Moving on, the cosplays I made for this convention were Oz Bezarius/Vessalius, depending on your preferred spelling, from Pandora Hearts, and Tomoyo Sakagami from Clannad, summer uniform version. Perfect choice for a winter convention, the summer version of a school uniform. Brilliant thinking by me there. I actually did have a sensible reason for choosing the summer one though, I may or may not come to that later in this post or the next one. Until then you can just believe I'm stupid.

I don't have any pictures of my Oz cosplay yet. Or there are a few, but I won't show them to you, and if you unfortunately do stumble upon them in the depths of the internet I feel deeply sorry for your soul. Haha but no, in all seriousness now, there are pictures of my Oz cosplay that were taken at the con, but I didn't particulary like them, so that's why I won't post them on here. But good news, I had a photoshoot with Hansku (who cosplays Gilbert from the same series) and Ilse (who worked the camera) a couple of days ago, so I'll post those pictures as soon as I get them and edit them properly. Or "as soon as" might be a bit untrue, but I promise you won't have to wait several months to see them. It's something. Unfortunately our lovely Alice, Henna aka. Momo who rocked Pandora Hearts with us on Frostbite couldn't make it to the photoshoot we had afterwards, so those pics sadly (or maybe happily to some fangirls) contain only Gil and Oz. So I might as well upload one of the pictures from the photos we took during the con, just to be nice and show you our entire group.

There you go. You might be thinking that this picture isn't that bad, and think I'm stupid for not posting the rest, but this is definately the best picture from the entire shoot. That said, I'm not uploading any more pics of Oz from the con, you'll get to  see the ones from our second shoot later instead, and actually get to look at nice pictures.

But then there was my other cosplay, the one I wore for Sunday, Tomoyo Sakagami. As I said earlier I made the summer version of the uniform, and I might as well tell you why. It was simply because I had all the materials needed on hand already. I didn't pay a single cent for the fabrics or the wig, I used leftovers from old cosplays. I only had to buy some accesories and fabric paints and I was all set, and it have been a dream of mine to cosplay from Clannad ever since I first started cosplaying, as it is an anime that always will be special to me as it managed to touch my heart like almost no anime ever had before. I do realize that sounds cheesy as fuck, but check it out, if it doesn't stir up your emotions even the slightest, especially the second season, you are officially a soulless bastard.
That being said, I did, unlike of Oz, get some nice pictures of this costume at the con, so here you go, Tomoyo Sakagami from Clannad:

All the pictures were taken by Heta aka. Poke. Please don't mind the con armband. But yeah, I don't have too much to say about this costume in general except SHORT SKIRT. Yeah I had to say that. But damn it's hard to try making yourself look like you have anime leg proportions with anything but an anime length skirt. Oh and also, just so you all pay some extra attention to it, I just have to comment on how much I like the way the school badge turned out. I painted it myself using a printed out picture as a reference, and I really do think the end result is super neat : 3

And then, finally, general pictures from the con, taken by me of some of the many awesome attendants:

And finally I'll throw in a pic of my hotel room buddies in their Sunday cosplays:

And even though I've already sneakily incorporated links to their blogs in my previous text, I'll just link them again, for you stupid people who only now realized the blue underlined words in the text were links, and who are now too lazy to scroll up to look for them;

Hetas and Hennas blog
Hanskus blog

Yeah I'm nice like that, advertising my friends blogs and stuff.

Anyways, I'm pretty much done here for today, I'll return later with more pictures of Oz and maybe (maybe, just maybe) pictures of my Frostbite costumes in the making. Until then, bye!

Oh wait, I do have a blog

Ok, I've been a shitty blogger, I really have. But, I too do (to some small extent) have a life, especially during summer I did. But that's nothing you'd be interested in, since this is a cosplay blog after all. So what has happened in my life as a cosplayer lately? Well, I attended Animecon IX in July, so there will be pictures from that later on in this post, and I also made a Meredy (Fairy Tail) cosplay which I was supposed to bring to Animecon, but the wig didn't arrive on time, even though I did order it in good time. I honestly looked forward to cosplaying her, but no, that just didn't happen. I was also planning to attend Tracon as Gisen Yagyu from Hyakka Ryoran Samurai Girls, but various health issues got in the way, and I ended up not going to Tracon at all. I'm back in the zone now though, finishing unfinished cosplays, and planning for next years cosplay season. And I have tons of unpublished progress pictures I'll show you sometime soon.

But back to Animecon, on Saturday I wore my Kanaya (Homestuck) cosplay since I wanted some more pictures of her, and Rei (HOTD) for pretty much the same reason, I wanted pics of both of them in summer since the only ones I have are taken during the winter. So, here you get, some pictures from Animecon 2 months ago haha;

There you go, some pictures of me from Animecon. All of them were taken by Victoria, who gladly joined me to the con even though she isn't a cosplayer herself. She did however borrow my Alois and my Rei cosplay, so I'll throw in some pics of her in said cosplays too!

Aaand finally, both of us on Sunday. I had a good time, and it was fun to show someone who has never been to a con before how it is and what happens haha.

That will be it for this post, I'd post some other con pictures I took of other cosplayers, but as it was so long ago I don't know how relevant that feels. If you do feel like seeing some of them leave a comment and let me know and you'll get to see some other cosplayers than me haha. And hopefully I'll return in sensible time to tell you more about actual cosplay making and show you some of my progress pics.

Desucon

This years Desucon has passed and I had a really good time! I arrived to Lahti on Friday, met up with Hansku at the hotel, and then we left for Sibeliustalo and the con. I wasn't in any cosplay since all we did was basically to go watch the Sugiyama Noriaki interview thingy, which was really interesting btw, I'm kind of a fan haha, and then we went back to the hotel to finish some cosplay stuff for Saturday.

Yeah that's pretty much how out hotel room looked like the night between Friday and Saturday. Paints everywhere.
And then we woke up early Saturday morning to do our makeup and get into cosplay, and well, since Hansku was attending the Euro Cosplay tryouts she had her Illua costume with her, which had a gigantic katana, a huge spellbook, some armor and just LOTS of stuff in general, so this did take time. So walking with all that in several bags to Sibeliustalo from Omenahotelli was quite interesting. But yeah, basically all of Saturday went to EC stuff. Which I don't mind, it was fun being backstage and all that and kind of get a feel of how that is. And it probably was a good experience since I'll be attending competitions of the bigger kind myself in the future.
So Sunday was pretty much the only "normal" con day I had at this con, and that's also the day most of the pics I'll post are from. I was in my new Kisaragi Saya (Blood-C) cosplay for both Saturday and Sunday, and even though the overall costume is really comfortable, the shoes were killing my feet. I literally couldn't even walk a meter in them at Sunday after running around in them all of Saturday, so I had to sacrifice some accuracy and walk around in my socks only on Sunday haha.

But that's it for my ramblings, here you have some pictures I took at the con;

Random pictures yay. These are actually all the pics I took, I've gotten really lazy about taking pictures at cons recently, which is bad since pics are fun to have :c
Anyway, I'll now put up some pics of my cosplay as well. They're all taken by Hansku, thank you!

More pics will be up on my cosplay.com account and deviantART shortly.
