Alois Trancy, check!

Yay I'm so happy right now, I managed to finish Alois without any major failures and the whole cosplay actually turned out really nice, it's definitely one of my better costumes. I also realized how incredibly lazy I've been with it, it took me waaaay too long to finish it, I should have been working on other things. But oh well, cosplay and procrastination does seem to walk hand in hand so I don't really care too much. Anyway, picture time!

Collar and pocket, nothing special. The top part of the collar did almost drive me insane though, since it just wouldn't stand up, but eventually I fixed it. It now consists of four layers of
fabric. (Yeah I know, I could just have gotten myself some interfacing and that'd have solved the problem but lolnope, I did it the hard way)

Shoes and a derpy me wearing said shoes (aaand the mirror center thingy is kind of censoring the shoes out so all you have left is the fabulous me and a door, nice). I desperately sought some lace that would be very similar in color to my coat, but that was the closest thing I could find, so I'm not fully content with them, but I'm not going to attempt to dye them either since they're 100% shitty synthetic material.

Buttons! I found these babies for only 0.35 a piece, that really made my day. It's so much more fun to sew on 14 buttons you like on a coat than 14 buttons you don't (obviously, duuh). No but seriously, they match the overall outfit really well and add some nice detail at the same time, so I'm really happy about them.

And some really unflattering pics of the finished (or not so finished in the (blurry) pic on the lower right) coat! I'm honestly surprised of how little time it took me to make it~

So now I'm all set for Tampere Kuplii the next weekend! I'm really really looking forward to cosplay again and see some friends I haven't seen in a while. I'm going to wear Alois on Sunday, and on Saturday I'll wear Bernkastel, which will be really fun, I haven't taken her out in a while and I'm also kind of in love with her after recently reading the final part of Umineko, she is just so. cool. And evil too for the matter, but I don't care she's a marvelous character. There will be pics from TK, so stay tuned haha.

And on a completely unrelated note, I got tagged in this blog award thingy at momochuunosekai, (thank you! OuO) and the basic idea is to tag five peoples blogs (the blogs should have less than 200 followers) to spread the word about smaller blogs. (I'm doing a very rough and short translation here, if you want to read the full thing, go to momos blog ^^) So, I'm going to tag a couple of blogs here.

Pukuleikkiä - A lovely and fun cosplay blog with many pictures of different kinds. And cats. Many cats. Cats and cosplay are equally awesome, do it's definitely worth checking out!

Hanskun cosplay ahdistukset - Once again a lovely blog dedicated to cosplay. At this blog you'll find lots and lots of progress pictures of both props and costumes and last but not least, wigs! (And there are pictures of me in it, now that beats everything! Ok I'm coming of as really narcissistic today, this is the second time I talk about me being "awesome") No but seriously, go check this one out too, you can definitely learn something from it!

Valkoinen Samurai's Cosplay - Ok now this is something for the one who likes traditional Japanese clothing and characters who wear it, because you are going to find tons of that on this blog! Plus, the blog is updated quite frequently, and that's always nice. (I wish I could say that about my own blog lol)

Orelium - Not a cosplay blog, more of a personal blog, but she posts some really nice artwork every once in a while, so for you who are interested in that should definitely pay her blog a visit!

Angie's Anime & other Arts - Ok so this is one is a really cool cosplay/art blog with a little of everything, tutorials, progress pictures, artwork and cosplay photos. She makes some really gorgeous cosplays, and I seriously can't believe she's younger than me!

Ok so I didn't really do this blog award thing completely according to the rules, but I tagged some blogs, who can feel free to tag some other blogs if they want to, and I suppose that was the very basic idea haha~ Over and out.

About laziness and such..

Ok, I admit it, I've been very lazy lately. Very. Not only when it comes to update this blog thingy, but also when it comes to make some actual cosplay progress. I've done almost nothing, and I will regret this, especially as I have quite grand plans for Desucon so to say..  I'll reveal those later if I know with 100% certainty that I'll actually make them come true. I'm good at planning but bad at actually getting things done ahaha, there are just so many other things to do that requires less thinking and work. I'll stop ranting now and post a pic that pretty much summarizes my feelings.

That's it about what I haven't done. But what about what I actually have done? I suppose I'll get to that now. In an earlier post I mentioned my Alois wig and that I'd show you pictures (and we'll just ignore the fact that I said I'd show those to you "soon". It's been more than 20 days since that post, oops.) I ordered it from wigfever on eBay after hearing some good things about them, and I'm definitely satisfied with their product since the color was really accurate to the picture and Alois has a kinda tricky blonde going on, it's not platinum and it's not dark and it has a bit of a warm tone to it and ahdklj I won't even try state all the reasons to why I couldn't just get "just a blonde wig".

So, that's how it looks after some minor styling, I'll
still have to cut it a little shorter in the back and eventually
layer it a little more~

What do I say? Blonde isn't really my color.. Anyway, continuing on Alois, I've now completely finished the vest, but as I posted some pictures of it being almost finished, only missing the buttons, I figure it'd be unnecessary to post more pics of it. I haven't posted any pictures of the shoes I just got in the mail for him though, so here you go;

That's the closest thing I could find to his boots within a reasonable price range. The heels are a little too high for him (but I'm semi-short, so I suppose that's ok?) and there are some extra buckles that aren't removable, but they don't look too out of place, so they don't bug me too much. I'll change the current shoelaces into purple ones and add the purple ribbon on the top of them.
I've also been working on hid coat, and I'm really starting to get freaked out, the con is in two weeks, and I'm not done with it at all... And I have stuff I need to make for Desu... But that's a later problem, knowing myself I will be working my ass of the fist weeks of summer break finishing stuff for Desu. But that's besides the point, I was talking about the coat. So, I decided to get a kind of reddish purple for the coat, as you may have seen in some earlier post, because the other purples just didn't mix as well with the green I chose for the vest, and in some pictures Alois does have a pretty redpurplish coat. However, in the anime it was more purple but oh well, I happen to like this better.

The first pic displays the color in daylight pretty well, and the second one shows how much I've worked on the coat. I forgot to take a picture of the front, but it's not much to see really, the back is actually more interesting haha. I still need to finish the collar sew on the sleeves, that one is just pinned on, add buttons and pockets and do some more fitting on it. So in other words, I have quite a lot left to do, but I'll manage in time for the con.

And that's it for Alois, however, I have done some (very little) work on my Desucon cosplays, so I suppose I could throw that into this update as well.
Firstly we have Saya who have kind of been put away for the past months. I made her tie and did some fixing on her skirt, but that's it. What I've got for her so far;

Behold the crappy camera quality, my own camera ran out of battery so I had to use a really bad one... Anyway, I still have to make the red striped on her shoes, make the collar on her shirt and finish her katana and she'll be done for Desu. I'm actually kind of happy that I've neglected her so much because now I'll have two new cosplays to debut for Desu, but I won't have to work too much one one of them, that one being Saya haha~

And for the other one that I don't even know if I'll make well, here you have some progress shots of the tiny part of it I've made;

Ok there were supposed to be several pics but noooo, apparently I couldn't upload more than this one. It still needs to be painted gold btw. 10 points for anyone who correctly guesses the character. I'm seriously not expecting anyone at the con to recognize me if I end up cosplaying her.

The Happiest Homestuck CMV Ever

A couple of weeks ago I decided to take part in Moonlilys Homestuck cosplay collab video since she needed a Kanaya and well, I had a Kanaya cosplay, so I thought why the heck not? So I threw my cosplay on, shot the clips and sent them to her, waited, and then a couple of days ago she posted the result on her Youtube channel, and now I thought, why not put it up here for you guys to watch? There are some really awesome cosplayers in it, and it's cool to watch something that people from all over the world have contributed to ^^ I find it kinda funny that I'm standing in like 50 cm of snow and then the Feferi cosplayer is standing on a beach, and all the clips were shot at the same time of the year.. Oh Finland, y u so cold? However, here you go, enjoy my bad lip syncing haha;

In case someone wonders, I appear at 1:09, really quickly at 2:14, 3:39
and 4:30. But watch the whole thing, seriously :3
